Good morning, world (or, more specifically, my family!)

Today was the perfect day to stay inside. With temperatures hovering around 5°, I took one look out the window and said, “Nope.” Let’s be honest—what and why do I need to be outside?

I spent the day bouncing around on a variety of activities. First, there was Tax-Aide volunteer work (thrilling, I know), then my actual taxes (because apparently, the IRS insists on punctuality), entertaining TV, building Legos, and some serious reading. I’m currently reading The Civil War by Shelby Foote (written in 1958…a long time ago). Thanks to Mr. Peachy.

In between,I caught some of the Senate confirmation hearings—an underrated mix of intellect, drama, and moments that make you question democracy. I’ve always enjoyed watching the confirmation process; it’s the one opportunity to get a feel for the people who lead our country. It’’s like like tuning into a high-stakes game show where some contestants are brilliant strategists and others… well, others might not even know they’re playing. No matter your politics, it’s fascinating to see who shines, who stumbles, and who says something so wild it makes you do a double-take. Highly recommend.

We finally started assembling the Lego Christmas wreath from Alex and Nicole the other day. Sure, Christmas is over, but who doesn’t love a festive wreath in mid-January, or will it be late February? Building it was more complex than I expected—mess up one little piece, and suddenly, you’re playing Lego Jenga in reverse. It’s surprisingly therapeutic… until it isn’t.

Oh, and let me confess: I spent the entire day in pajamas…again. From 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (and beyond), Why dress up? I have everything I need—except a small bell for those moments when my legs don’t feel like getting up. I’ll work on getting showered and dressed at some point today…no choice…we have dinner plans tonight.

Everybody have a great Thursday…your weekend is almost here.

Love you guys! ❤️
