Good morning, all!
For those of you who made New Year’s vows, it’s “National Ditch New Year’s Resolution Day.” Everyone except Alex…he’s just getting started on his marathon training for the Chicago marathon on October 13.
There’s not too much to ramble on about this morning.
I’m still putting the Lego wreath together. Legos have come a long way since I played with them as a child, or at least what I remember. It’s amazing how well these pieces go together…presuming you put them together correctly. It’s enjoyable and frustrating at the same time. I was at it for an hour or so yesterday when I hit a step and couldn’t get the pieces together because my thumbs on both hands would not hold on to the pieces. I even brought in some pliers to assist, but I still couldn’t connect the pieces. I’ll try again this morning. I want to complete this wreath before we take the holiday decorations down.
Cindy has been busting her butt to get things cleaned up in the loft and the guest bedroom for when all the furniture needs to leave the bedroom on Tuesday. Tim and Mike (the guy we friended on our dog walks) are going to move the heavy items out of the bedroom. Everybody has been so generous with their offers to help us; we are so grateful for this. As much as I want to do this myself or at least participate…I’m just not capable anymore. This part is tough for me to accept.
Last night, Cindy and I went out for a Mexican dinner with Mike and Beth. The food was great, and there was plenty of spice if that’s what you wanted. I think the margaritas were excellent; maybe Cindy can confirm. Mike and Beth asked a lot of questions about the ALS. I don’t mind talking about it. There is something cathartic about discussing where I am in my ALS progression and where it is headed. I think I’ve told you before…if you have any questions, curiosities, or thoughts about this topic…feel free to throw them out. And if you don’t want to discuss it or it makes you uncomfortable, I also get that part. If I were in your shoes…I’d be uncomfortable talking about it.
Have a great weekend, and dress warm. Better yet…stay inside if you’re in the Midwest. We’re having negative temperatures this weekend.
Love you guys!❤️
