Good morning, all!

Welcome to my personal kickoff of tax season! It’s that fun time of year where I get to help the senior crowd navigate the jungle of paperwork and numbers. If all goes according to plan, my Tuesdays and Thursdays will be booked solid until April 10. Then, of course, the last five days until April 15 will be the usual tax-season rush to get family returns completed. Today, there’s plenty of time and then all of a sudden, there’s won’t be, so earlier is always better. Hint, hint.

Meanwhile, Cindy has taken on the thankless task of clearing out the guest bedroom. I’m not entirely sure how we ended up with so much stuff, but I know I’ve played my part in the chaos. Once the room’s emptied and ready to be put back together, we might actually evaluate what we really need to keep. We’ve got a long five weeks before that day arrives and before we know…well you know where I’m headed with this. We’ll justify keeping everything…because “some of us can’t throw anything away”. I’m looking in the mirror when I say that.

Today, Tim’s coming over to help move some of the heavier items. It’ll be great to catch up with him since I’ve missed our weekly fall golf outings. Helping me lug furniture probably won’t quite compare to a day on the golf course, but hey, I’ll make it up to him…someday. I’ll check his mood after he finds out how heavy the adjustable bed is to lift. Mark and I carried it up the stairs and it is truly a ball-buster.

On another note, we’ve been cranking up the fireplace lately—it’s the best! (Have I mentioned how much I love it? Because I really love it.) The downside? It’s like the Sahara in here now, with my eyes 😳constantly drying out. So, I grabbed some eyedrops to fix that… except, getting drops out of the bottle felt like an Olympic event. I squeezed, I shook, I fought, I cursed, and nothing happened. You’re thinking bottle’s empty. Nope, it was just weak pinchers. I suppose I could have grabbed the pliers for an assist (funny image). Cindy solved this minor problem. Although it’s one more thing I’m pushing over to her side of the ledger.
