Happy Birthday, Nicole!!! šŸŽ‰šŸŽˆšŸŽšŸ„³ Can’t wait to celebrate with you and the family in a couple of weeks, especially Wyatt and Coco. I watch them every morning on the Aura frame—it’s a great way to start the day. Love seeing their sweet faces, even the ones that say, ā€œI’m having a bad moment.ā€

Day 1 of tax season prep! The real deal begins. We’ve got 22 days mapped out, 11 volunteers, and 700 tax returns as our target. Nothing like crunching numbers for Sun City’s seniors—who, by the way, make up 90% of our clients and keep me entertained with their stories and unique sense of humor. It’s actually pretty rewarding…they are grateful and always say thank you. If it weren’t for that, I might not be so forgiving with the headache-inducing parts.

Legos, Legos, Legos! The Cathedral of Notre Dame set has finally arrived after a couple of weeks.Ā Ā But it’s going to sit awhile longer waiting until the Lego wreath is done. Unfortunately, the dainty final touches are too tiny for me to manage, but I’ve got Cindy to take over and finish the job.

Speaking of Cindy—she took yesterday’s offhand cane comment seriously. She came home with yet another cane. That brings me to three canes now! I’m becoming a regular collector, but my go-to is still the one Alex made for me. ThisĀ Ā masterpiece goes with me anytime I venture outside—which hasn’t happened since Friday, because hermit life suits me just fine at the moment.

Speaking of hermit life. On the less-classy side of my life, Cindy’s upped my wardrobe game with some sporty leisure wear. Yep, sweatpants have entered the scene. They’re easier than wrestling with jeans, but let’s be honest—I’m one step away from living in my pajamas full-time. At this rate, it’s only a matter of time before I start wearing the sweats out in public. Somebody, please stop me if it comes to that. Or at least join me so I’m not alone in my descent into the Walmart attire.

Last night’s entertainment? The Pride of the Yankees. A classic I’ve seen a few times, but it never gets old. Watching it takes me back to my childhood, sitting on the back porch on those long hot summer nights with a comically tiny black-and-white TV. I’d stay up late watching all the old movies, and Gary Cooper was one of my favorites. If you haven’t seen the movie, it’s about Lou Gehrig’s incredible 17-year career with the Yankees and his battle with ALS (associated with his name ā˜¹ļø). After his diagnosis, he responded to a reporter’s question regarding the disease, saying: ā€œAll the arguing in the world can’t change the decision of the umpire.ā€ A true class act, who passed away at 37.

Time for me to get going and make the donuts šŸ©. Not really, but every Tuesday during the tax year, I bring donuts for the volunteers and whoever else wants to eat them.

Have a great day everybody.

Love you guys!ā¤ļø
