I read the following headline yesterday:

“Diabetes, high cholesterol linked with lower risk of developing ALS”

Well crap, if I had paid even less attention to my diet, then maybe I’d be in a different boat Who knew? Something for others to consider …if you dare.

Cindy has been running all over town trying to keep things moving along on the bathroom project, shopping for the household, and making trips to Senior Care to pick up durable medical equipment from their lending closet.

I’ve reached a new stage with the ALS. 😕 When I shower, my legs are getting close to the point of failure. While washing my hair with my eyes closed, my balance goes to hell and both legs tremble until I’ve rinsed all the soap out. It reminded me of the book Unbroken, where Louis Zamperini (American in Japanese POW camp, was forced by the Bird (the guy in charge) to hold a beam over his head and if he dropped it, he would be shot. I remember the look of agony, his body all contorted from holding this beam that looked to weigh more than Zamperini. His legs shook trembled the entire time but he never failed. Yes…I know my situation is not even close to what Zamperini experienced in the POW camp. It happened to be what I thought of feeling my legs shake.

Anyway…now I have a shower chair so that I can sit in the shower and remove a fall risk. Simple fix. My situation is trivial when I think of the punishment that occurred to Zamperini in the POW camp. Anyway…read the book or watch the movie…it is worth your time.

Moving on, made a trip to Sew Hop’d brewery with the Balasi’s and Cindy to renew our mug club membership, have a couple of beers each (our limit), and have some South African cuisine.

Then home to watch Number 24 on Netflix. It’s about a Norwegian who is part of the resistance during WW II. It was a good movie…worth watching.

Have a great Saturday.

Love you guys!❤️
