Happy New Year! 🎉🥳🎊

We came a lot closer to the midnight hour than we have in past years. It’s one of the reasons I’m late getting this to you. We stayed up past 10:00pm Can you believe that?!?!This was a party that started at 4:30pm.

We had our usual spaghetti and meatball dinner. We had an expanded guest list and it was so much fun to be with family and friends. For change of pace, nothing was spilled this year. Yes, Alex was in on the fun.

We also played our usual LRC game and Cindy won all the $$ last night. She had a different strategy this year by sitting in a different seat for each game and it gave her a house advantage.

We closed the night with a few people left and watched Heart perform Stairway to Heaven at the 2012 Kennedy Center Honors. I think we have watched this 100+ times over the years. It always causes me to tear up. Not sure why.

Speaking of tearing up. So many of you know that Miss Sally would tear up at the dining room table and could never get a toast completed before the tears of joy overcame her. Well…the apple didn’t fall too far from the tree. It’s either that or psuedobulbar affect (PBA) caused by ALS.

I had a toast before dinner that I had to abbreviate because of the emotions and even then it was a challenge to get through to the end. Whew!!

The message: a toast to everyone thanking you for being a part of our life and creating beautiful 2024 memories and to look forward into 2025 and keep doing more of the same despite the challenges. To all of you. 🥂
