Good morning, everyone! ☀️

Welcome to Friday—the glorious end of the workweek and the kickoff to Super Bowl weekend! My prediction? Eagles 28 - Chiefs 24. Why? Because someone else needs to win.

Well…I finally feel human again…the spigot is off and the head feels clear. This may be the last day of medicine.

So, yesterday, we woke up to a lovely sheet of ice. In years past, I’d load up the spreader with ice melt and hit all the townhomes before the early risers shuffled out. We’ve got a lot of older folks here, and let’s face it—we break more easily. I could pay someone to do it, but why drop $200 when I can get it done for $30? Yep, I’m frugal like that. ( nobody is surprised by that.)

Anyway… Cindy wanted me to show her how to set up the spreader, but in true stubborn fashion, I insisted on handling it myself. Let’s be real—none of us can afford a fall, but if Cindy falls and breaks something? That’s a one-way ticket to my personal doom. So, after some considerable effort, I wrestled a 40-pound bag of ice melt into the spreader and got to work. Now, I know what you’re thinking—this ends in disaster. Ha! Ye of little faith! I stayed upright and managed to hit the key driveways before people started heading out.

After emptying the bag (but not covering everyone), I came back inside and had a stroke of sensibility—I called our snow removal company. They were here within the hour and only charged $150. Bargain! So I had my last experience as a skater on thin ice. A good thing!

The Brickhouse family is coming into town! We haven’t seen them since St. Maarten. I wonder if Coco will remember us and come running for a hug or give us the cold shoulder? I know Wyatt will be all smiles, arms wide open, ready for a big hug. I’m really looking forward to spending time with Alex, Nicole, and the rest of the crew. It will be a quick weekend, but full of love, hugs, and laughter… and some beer.

Last night, I had a weird dream—strange enough that I actually remember it. I was a vagrant in Florida, wandering along a beach when a couple of people started coming at me. Not keen on finding out their intentions, I turned and ran. And here’s the best part—I was flying across the sand, no heavy breathing, no aching joints—just running free, like I was 19 again! Then… I woke up. And that was that. 🙁

Wishing everyone a great day, and for those traveling, may your journeys be smooth, safe, and on time.

Love you all! ❤️
