Wednesday, March 26, 2025 - Day 225

Good morning! Boy oh boy, this tax stuff is wearing me out. Every evening, I get home, collapse onto the couch, and stay there like I’ve just run a marathon—except my only exercise has been dodging cranky clients all day. We’re down to four sessions left, and this is the point where people start getting, let’s say, testy. We’ve been booked out for weeks, yet some folks waltz in like VIPs, demanding we squeeze them in. It’s disappointing to turn people away, but let’s be honest—turning away the rude ones is actually kind of satisfying. You’d think by age 65+, they’d have learned that kindness gets you further than yelling. But alas, some folks are committed to being stubborn. Yelling and demanding? That’s an automatic “no.” When I submit tax returns to the IRS, it takes about 10 minutes for a response. Two possible outcomes: accepted(hooray!) or rejected (cue internal screaming). Last night, I got a rejection, meaning I had to call the client and sort things out. The problem? After talking all day, my brain moves faster than my mouth, and I sound like a malfunctioning robot. I know what I want to say—it’s crystal clear in my head—but as soon as I start talking, it’s like I’ve had one too many drinks… and I’m only on my first beer. Of course, no one ever answers, so I have to leave a voicemail, which usually involves some stumbling, a few deep sighs, and repeating my name and number twice just to be safe. Somehow, despite my garbled messages, they always call back, and we get things sorted. I’d say this is the hardest part of tax season this year… and let’s be real, everything has been harder this year. Time to crack open that second beer and move on.

On a completely different note, I’ve been watching Yellowstone lately. It’s a perfect fit…once I’m parked on the couch I’m staying put. This show is full of violence and more swear words than I’ve heard in years—so naturally, I’m hooked. The violence surprised me at first, mostly because I know so many people who love this show, and many of them don’t seem like the “graphic murder scenes” type. But here we are. Cindy? Not a fan. Me? Right up my alley. The scenery is stunning, the storyline is solid, and the acting is top-notch. The last time I enjoyed a show this much was Breaking Bad… and that was a whole decade ago. I was bummed when Breaking Badended, and I already know I’ll feel the same when Yellowstone wraps up.

That was my day yesterday. It was full, fulfilling, and exhausting. I would do it all over again. 🤓

I’m already looking forward to the weekend. Only two more sleep nights until Nicole and Wyatt visit! See ya soon, Wyatt! 🤩

Have a great Wednesday.

Love you guys!❤️
