Good morning, Andy’s Army!
I have read all the cards from the open house and the card selection and the messages were moving. I was emotionally hungover much of last week…so I had to pause a few days before I could open them. I’m always amazed by the power of words and the emotions they can trigger. I just want to keep saying thank you for such a beautiful event and the love that was shared…I still feel it!
Notes expressing the same, in-progress.
We made a Costco run yesterday. It’s my first time back in a couple of months. The last time was when my ego wouldn’t allow me to take a motorized scooter and it was a hard lesson learned that day. I struggled to walk and had to find multiple spots to rest while Cindy ran up and down the aisles. All I wanted to do was find my way back to the car.
Many of you weighed in my stubbornness and ego and the bottom-line was “Costco > Ego”. So it was nice to tool around the warehouse in the scooter and get back to running up and down every aisle and dropping a few items into the basket just because. I would have dropped more things in the basket, but the scooters don’t hold as much as the push carts. Cindy is happy about that! Me, not so much.
Costco had a sparse crowd on a Monday and I’m sure that made the experience more enjoyable. These scooters take up a fair amount of space in the aisles, are low to the ground, and out of people’s line of vision. There were moments I thought I was invisible as people would walk right in front of me. It’s just like being in the car. Sometimes, I dislike the public.
We were home by early afternoon and with the cool weather I took advantage of getting my legs up, while Cindy unloaded the car, and cracked the latest prey book, Secret Prey. Which I will probably be finished with today. Hint…hint.😉
What’s very interesting about this series is that it started in 1989 (year Nikki was born). This was the time when the cell phones and science were evolving quickly. The changes happen slowly from book to book, but it’s still evident. It enjoyable to read and remember some of the old technology…especially phones and computers.
Not sure what today will bring…but I’ll find something to keep me busy and hopefully productive. After I finish the book!
Have a great Tuesday.
Love you guys!❤️
