Sunday, October 12, 2025 – Day 425

Good morning! It’s race day!

The runners are up and on their way to the starting corrals. Now comes the classic marathon morning routine—hurry up and wait—trying to calm the nerves, fight off the chill, and make that final bathroom stop at the last possible moment.

I keep thinking about a comment from last night’s ALS United dinner:

“You have the opportunity to run where others cannot, so enjoy yourself out there and take in the whole experience.”
Beautifully said—and a reminder of what today is all about.

Team Andy’s Army spectators are ready to roll and looking forward to seeing our runners out on the course. It’s going to be packed on the streets, and navigating through the crowds in a wheelchair will be tricky (if not impossible), so our main plan is to watch from the ALS United viewing stand near mile 12.5 and go from there.

I’m wishing great success to every runner out there today. You’ve already exceeded every expectation, raising over $63,000 for ALS United as of this morning. That’s an incredible accomplishment. Thank you to everyone who’s donated and supported this team—you’ve made a real difference.

I’m tracking the following runners on the ChiMarathon app. Each of them has a story in my life, and I can’t wait to follow along as they push one foot in front of the other to reach that finish line.

38354 Alex Snarski 62849 Nikki Brickhouse 63213 Meghan Perkins (Snarski) 17775 Mike Nyman 21859 Ben Sheets 71938 Emily Kozak 13217 Eli Walker 62245 Lisa May

Wherever you are today—on the course or cheering from home—have a great day. Love you guys! ❤️
