Sunday, December 28, 2025 – Day 502
Sunday, December 28, 2025
Good morning, everyone.
The kids flew home yesterday. It really was a treat to spend Christmas with them. Saying goodbye is always hard—made harder by the fact that we don’t get to see them as often anymore because my travel is so limited. But it ended on a high note. As they were leaving, I got a hug from Coco… something she’s been very selective about sharing with me. Maybe it was because I finally shaved off the beard I’d been sporting for the past year. Either way, I’ll savor that moment.
My brother Tim stopped by for a quick visit and brought over an air purifier to help eliminate any germs hanging around my little corner of the world. I don’t know if it will help, but it certainly can’t hurt—so I told him I’d give it a try. Thank you.
Given that Cindy hasn’t been feeling well—and felt worse yesterday—it’s probably smart to have a few defensive weapons in place. She slept most of the afternoon, so we didn’t cross paths much during the day. Maybe I should hook the air purifier directly to my respirator and just go into full isolation mode for the next few days. Hello David…aka The Boy in the Bubble.
Although I’m not sick, my body is definitely out of whack. Between the feeding tube issues and the disruption of the Christmas schedule, my feedings got off track. I got careless with my daily laxative, and now I’m paying the price. That likely explains the internal discomfort I initially thought might be flu-related. If today doesn’t bring some relief, I may have to flood the zone and go the enema route. Ah yes—the joys of ALS.
On that pleasant note, I’ll leave you. I hope you have a great Sunday.
The Bears won the division after the Packers lost last night. Now it’s a question of who gets the coveted bye week. Go Bears.
Love you guys. ❤️
