Sunday, February 8, 2026 – Day 534
Sunday, February 8, 2026
Good morning, everyone.
It’s Super Bowl Sunday. Kickoff is at 5:30 p.m. CST.
The Squares pools are attached.
-
Pool #1, make sure it says “revised” at the top—otherwise, you’re not looking at the correct version.
-
Pool #2 had no changes.
Good luck to everyone. Have fun.
Nikki and Wyatt pulled off a last-minute surprise and came in for a weekend visit. They’re staying until Monday, which means they’ll be here to watch the Super Bowl with us. I’ll probably be in bed by the start of the third quarter. That’s just my reality now, and I don’t feel the need to fight it. Maybe a good nap will help.
What really mattered this weekend was having Wyatt in the house.
Four-year-olds bring a special kind of energy with them—the kind that fills every room. Wyatt was busy with his Matchbox cars and dinosaurs, turning the living room into his own little world. At one point, he created an obstacle course just for me to navigate in my power chair. The plastic dinosaurs put up a valiant fight, but the Matchbox cars don’t stand a chance. So I drop my feet and sweep the floor when I need to move around.
There were plenty of giggles as he played with Aunt Cindy on the couch. I loved watching it—truly loved it—but I also felt that quiet pull inside me, wishing I could do the same things. Wanting to sit on the floor at a child’s level, getting pulled into their imagination, making silly noises, being fully in it with them. That’s what I’d like to do. Still, I’m deeply grateful Wyatt is here. Grateful for the laughter, the noise, the life he brings into our home.
Wyatt stirred while I was writing this blog, and soon he was in the loft calling down to “Morning Grandy”. I called back to him and asked if he wanted to come down and join me. So he came down and gave me a good morning hug and sat on the hearth warming himself by the fire. Just the two of us. I asked him if he wanted to watch a movie. He went back upstairs for approval and came back saying we could. That surprised me…the making sure he could watch a movie with me. So we’re hanging out watching Paw Patrol.
ALS has drawn some hard lines around what I can and can’t do, but for today, I’ll take the joy of having Wyatt here, exactly as it is.
Have a good Sunday in whatever you do.
Love you guys!❤️
