Today’s post is from Anne Marie Beckwith, a friend of Cindy’s.

I have been friends with Cindy since our Motorola days and I knew back then she was not married. When we no longer worked together we kind of lost touch, as often happens.

One day quite a few years ago I saw her at the Jewel in Crystal Lake with a guy. I am thinking now this was early in her relationship with Andy because it was a long time ago.

The two of them were talking, laughing, holding hands looking at a display…probably trying to decide what to buy for dinner. I didn’t interrupt them … I just watched from a distance with a smile. I didn’t know who the guy was but I was so happy for Cindy.

I could tell how much in love they were then, and I could tell how much they were still in love when my husband and I bumped into them a year or so ago at Sew Hop’d, one of our local breweries.

And I could tell how much they were still in love throughout Andy’s journey with ALS. Their love is a testament that if you hold that love in your heart, your loved one will always be with you.
