ONE week from today!!!

To the Chicago marathon - that is. We have one last fundraiser for ALS United - the same organization that was so very helpful to Andy and Cindy as the shitty disease progressed. This fundraiser is our way of paying it forward for others who are currently facing ALS.

There are 15 of us registered as Andy’s Army Team members for the marathon; 10 are first-time marathoners! Andy was humbled so many were committing to the 2026 marathon.  

Marathon Squares. This is how it works:

It’s a similar idea to Superbowl squares as last year - $25/square. Squares are randomly assigned and not pegged to betting on any particular individual/team winning.

There are four chances to win $250 - based on the total Andy’s Army marathon team times at the following distances: 5k, 10k, 1/2 marathon and finish time of the full Andy’s Army Team. All runners' times will be totaled; and the last digit of the minutes combined will be on the Y axis (0-9) and the last digit of the seconds will be on the X axis (0-9). Marathon times are public and broken down for 10 different distances. I’ve chosen the classic distances for marathon squares.

When all 100 squares are sold, we will have collected $2,500. $1,000 will be paid out. The remaining $1,500 will be donated to ALS United. If you are interested in a chance to win and also helping donate to ALS United, please use Venmo @Maria-Snarski; Paypal @MariaSnarski; or Zelle 715-892-9233.

Squares must be purchased by Friday October 9. The completed board will be sent out October 10 and results should be in by evening Oct 11 or Oct 12. Please be sure your name and contact are easily identifiable to me so I can identity winners etc.!
